About the Journal

Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam (Journal of Islamic Education Studies)  (print-ISSN: 2089-1946 & Electronic-ISSN: 2527-4511) is a peer-reviewed journal published by Islamic Education Teacher Training Program of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya.

The journal issues academic manuscripts on Islamic Education Teaching and Islamic Education Studies in either Indonesian or international contexts with multidisciplinary perspective: particularly within scholarly tradition of classical Islam, Educational Studies, and other social sciences. The manuscripts are published in English with abstract in both Bahasa Indonesia and in English.

Focus and Scope

The journal's scope encompasses a diverse range of research papers that are grounded in research, theoretical concepts, and empirical experiences. The following areas are within the purview of the journal:

Scholarly Tradition of Islamic Education from Classical Islam Resources

This category includes topics related to the foundational teachings of Islamic education as derived from classical Islamic resources such as Al-Quran and Al-Hadith and other classical Islamic resources.

Educational Studies

This area delves into the broader realm of Islamic education world, exploring subjects such as the philosophy and foundational aspects of Islamic education, educational policies in Islamic schools, curriculum development and instructional methods in Islamic schools, and more.

Other Social Sciences

This perspective encapsulates various disciplines within the social sciences, including anthropology, archaeology, demography, economics, human geography, law, politics, psychology, and sociology. All these fields can be used as unique standpoints to examine Islamic education studies.

This is an open-access journal so that all parties are allowed to read, to download, to copy, to distribute, to print, or to link some or all parts of articles without any charge and without prior permission from either authors or journal editorial team.
